Aircraft Options From Zenair
Based on customer requests, Zenair has developed a number of "Options" with which builders can customize their personal aircraft. Some of these options can be retro-fitted after the aircraft has been finished; others need to be installed during the initial construction. Make sure you understand the full ramifications of customizing your aircraft with these options - almost all add weight, cost and complexity to the building process; aircraft specifications and performances may also be affected.

Notes:
- Options supplied by Zenair Ltd. can be slightly different than options offered by Zenith Aircraft Company. For identical options from both companies, visit the pricing pages that correspond with each aircraft model at the ZAC (US) website. See below for options developed by Zenair that are not available from Zenith Aircraft.

Steering-Rod Slot-Covers (Retro-fit kit) P/N: SRSC These galvanized steel slot-covers are easy to install on the engine side of the firewall to help block outside air from entering the cabin. These covers were a standard feature in the CH 601XL S-LSA and are now standard in new CH 650/750 kits (see drwgs) as well as Zenair's QBK fuselages. Option fits both the Zodiac and STOL series. |

Map Box Option (P/N: 650-MBO) This map box kit mounts between the seats on top of the center arm rest. It raises the arm rest (with custom-padding) for added arm support and pilot comfort. Nose Gear Rubber Puck Suspension System This system is now provided as standard equipment in all new CH 650 kits. Owners of older CH 650 Aircraft (with a bungee chord system) may upgrade their aircraft with this option. Note: This new "Puck" system will require a new nose gear strut (or modifications to the old one). Caution: if wanting to use this system in a CH 601 (HD/HDS/UL/XL), additional changes may be required to the firewall and to the "top tray" depending on the model. Builders will have to obtain CH 650 Firewall drawing and may have to make/install new parts for Puck-System to fit. Composite Parts - All Models
Individual Fiberglass and Plastic parts and fairings are also available from Zenair. Engine cowls, wing tips, wheel-fairings, etc. are traditionally made of fiberglass on most Zenair designs. Today, we also regularly use vacuum-formed plastics. These parts are typically included in the various airframe kits, but can also be purchased separately for repairs, or by builders constructing their Zenair aircraft from plans-only ("scratch-builders"). Follow the standard procedure to order.
