Learning Opportunities at Zenair
Part of the "vision" for Zenair's Founder has always been to make aviation accessible to those with a passion for recreational aircraft and flying. To this end, Chris Heintz made technical drawings available so that amateur-builders could safely build their own personal airplane. For aspiring engineers, he wrote a comprehensive textbook on how to design your own aircraft. To further deepen this commitment, Zenair has throughout its history offered unique internship opportunities to individuals seeking to further develop their knowledge and skills in light aircraft design and manufacturing.
Indeed, every year, Zenair has a few positions for interns and/or engineering students who wish or need to spend a few months in the industry as part of their studies. These non-paid positions typically last three-months and offer students an opportunity to spend time in our engineering offices but also in our production facility. Participants are exposed to many aspects of our day-to-day operations and will gain insights into the design and engineering of light aircraft, as well as prototype development, parts production, aircraft assembly and more...
Prerequisites:
Room & Transportation:
For international students, our intern coordinator may be able to assist with arrangements for the short-term rental of a furnished room and for daily local transportation to/from Zenair. Students will typically need to sign a short-term lease agreement and cover the first & last month's rent as well as a security deposit prior to arrival. Additional student responsibilities: Flight to/from Toronto (YYZ); travel/medical insurance; funds for food, misc. & extracurricular activities.
If qualified and interested, please contact Zenair for further details or to apply: zenair.info@gmail.com
